Anytime, anywhere access and convenient online scheduling better connect pet-owners
to high-quality and affordable spay neuter services.
Skookum and Spay Neuter Charlotte (SNC) have launched an intuitive, online solution to simplify and streamline the pet spay neuter scheduling process for pet-owners, and eliminate costly and time-consuming paperwork for SNC staff. Because the solution is cloud-based, it will augment the effectiveness of SNC’s pet services shuttle, which picks animals up at targeted locations, transports them to SNC clinics and returns them after their procedures. Skookum and SNC hope this increased access to high-quality and affordable spay neuter services will ultimately reduce the number of homeless pets at risk of euthanasia.
“We want to help end preventable euthanasia,” said Cary Bernstein, Executive Director, at Spay Neuter Charlotte. “Working with Skookum, we were able to create a web-based solution that provides a fast, intuitive and streamlined way for pet owners to schedule a pick-up, surgery and drop-off of their pet – from any device. The Spay Neuter shuttle will be able to more effectively reach and provide the ability to fix 100 additional dogs and cats a month who would not otherwise be able to reach us -- helping us to realize our vision of a city without homeless pets.” The success of the SNC shuttle program is also made possible by Lake Norman Chrysler Jeep Dodge who donated the van. “We worked hard to understand the customer journey in order to develop a process that would best meet the needs of Spay Neuter Charlotte’s customers and staff,” said James Hartsell, CEO & Founder, Skookum. “For the transport initiative to be successful, Spay Neuter Charlotte needed a user-friendly, cloud-based solution that would run on any device in order to facilitate and automate the scheduling, check-in, form management, and safe return of animals.”
“We’re thrilled to be able to help pair local non-profits with trusted technology providers like Skookum to create positive social change in our community,” said, Kim Lanphear, Executive Director, Apparo. “It’s rewarding to see the amazing results like those achieved by Spay Neuter Charlotte and Skookum. Forging alliances between nonprofits and corporate entities provides access to technology solutions, education and training that nonprofits need to achieve their missions.
